In a devastating blow to Las Vegas LGBT tourism, Las Vegas venues failed to rate among the top 100 nominations in 23 categories, including domestic destination, US hotels, spas, wedding resorts, Pride event, gay bar, summer event, winter event, or casino resort.

Borgata Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City, owned by MGM Resorts International. was the only property owned by a Las Vegas-based company to be nominated.

"The Gay Travel Awards support and promote LGBTQ travel and tourism by identifying and rewarding select organizations which exemplify a spirit of inclusiveness, superb customer service and hospitality excellence," said Stephen Prisco, vice president of this year's sponsor, GayTravel.com.

Results of the 22nd Annual LGBT Tourism & Hospitlaity Survey, the yearly bellweather survey presented by Community Marketing and sponsored by the Las Vegas Convention & Visitor's Bureau, will be released on Tuesday, December 19,

The mission of the Gay Travel Awards is to recognize and promote select destinations and travel-related companies around the globe. These distinguished organizations lead by example and help to inspire and challenge other companies and brands to follow their spirit of inclusiveness as well as to constantly improve their amenities and service levels.

Last year, Las Vegas was crowned as the 2016 Gay Travel Awards Destination of the Year.  This was the inaugural year for the award which recognizes global travel and hospitality providers that exemplify the spirit of inclusiveness, as well as innovators that constantly improve their amenities and service levels for the LGBT community.

The 2017 Gay Travel Awards are currently underway with the addition of this year's traveler voting component. To see the full list of nominees, visit the official web page at www.gaytravelawards.com.
